Talking to Geo News, he said only the coastal areas would be affected, adding these areas including Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Thar Parkar would receive showers; but, Karachi would be lashed by the driving rains. Arif further said that storm-generated sea waves might be 4 to 6-foot high, urging the fishermen to stay back. Responding a query, the meteorologist said the ocean-borne cyclones are lined with the monsoon season. He added that the recent cyclone was engendered as a result of hot weather at Arabian Sea, as the temperature crossed 30-Centigrade barrier.
