Red Cross chief seeks world aid for Pak calamity

 LONDON: A senior Red Cross official has said rebuilding Pakistan after the worst floods in decades could take five years.

Flood causes 50-feet breach near Dadu-Moro bridge
 JAKOBABAD: The breach caused by massive water pressure on a road near Dadu-Moro bridge, widened to 50 feet, causing a complete disruption of grounds links among several districts, Geo News reported Monday.

Govt mulls over disaster duty on imported goods
 ISLAMABAD: The government, in a bid to garner funds for the flood-affected people, is mulling over imposing a one-time “flood disaster import duty” on the import of majority of the products, mainly nonessential items.

According to the proposal under consideration by the economic managers of the country, food items and import of oil and POL products will remain exempted from the flood disaster import duty, the sources said.
