A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held in Islamabad on Monday. Briefing the committee‚ Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar said talks are underway with the United States in the light of parliamentary recommendations. She said, “We have no information about presence of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Pakistan. The Foreign Minister said if anybody has any information in this regard‚ it should be shared with Pakistan. Hina Rabbani Khar said drone attacks are counterproductive and violation of Pakistan s sovereignty. He said the United States has been informed of Pakistan s concerns on the drone strikes. In his remarks‚ Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee Mian Raza Rabbani said no compromise will be made on the country s sovereignty. He said the US should show respect to the recommendations passed by the parliament.
