Govt asked to ban yarn export

GEO 436 KARACHI: The Value-added Textile Sector Tuesday decided to continue its strike against the yarn crisis Addressing a news conference here, Javed Bilwani, chief coordinator of the value-added textile sector, said that cotton production was very low across the world this year. As a result, all other countries, including India put a ban on its yarn export. However, he said Pakistan continued to export its valuable raw yarn, taking the situation to an alarming stage for value-added textile sector. Bilwani threatened to shut the value-added textile sector if the government did not immediately ban the yarn export.
