GEO 436 GWADAR: The Balochistan government has declared coastal areas of Gwadar, Jiwani and Pasni ”calamity-hit” areas due to the damage created by “Phet” cyclone. Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani visited the affected areas and said the earlier announced aid was not sufficient and we will ask PM Gilani for more help. He instructed the concerned authorities to assess the volume of loss and start rehabilitation work as soon as possible. CM Balochistan had issued directives to the authorities to utilize all available resources to ensure the aid was provided to the people in the affected areas. The basic necessities of life are scarce since the land route between Gwadar, Jiwani and Pasni and more than 50 other villages has been cut off, and crops have been destroyed due to dams bursting in the adjoining areas of Gwadar.
