ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has accepted the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh to watch the cricket World Cup semi-final match between Pakistan and India in Mohali on March 30.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Gilani will informally meet Manmohan Singh during the match and a formal meeting will be held after the match in which bilateral matters will come under discussion.
It is expected that Prime Minister Gilani and Manmohan Singh will also discuss cricket diplomacy to improve bilateral relations.
The officials of the Sports Ministry and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will also be at Mohali to watch the match.
Meanwhile, Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said Pakistan welcomes Manmohan Singh”s invitation to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to watch the cricket World Cup semi-final match in Mohali.
Manmohan Singh on Friday invited President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to watch the India-Pakistan semi-final match.
The match will come a day after the home secretary-level talks between the two countries on March 28-29.
