Borge Ousland and his girlfriend Hege became the first couple to tie the knot in the North Pole. The pair wed in a traditional Lutheran ceremony, and said their vows standing before a cross made of skies. The temperature at the closest Ice Station on the day of the wedding was -23 Celsius (-9.4 Fahrenheit).
The bride and groom were lifted in to the Pole by helicopter for the occasion, along with about 30 guests and a pastor.
The groom wore a traditional Norwegian suit, and the bride wore a long, white dress with a wooly hooded jacket.
