Mfarhanonline Social Media News: Hootsuite is expanding its App Directory, adding support for MailChimp, Chime.in, Identi.ca, Vision Critical Surveys, and RSS Reader. The new apps are available starting Tuesday for all 4 million of HootSuite’s Free, Pro and Enterprise clients. "Businesses today are social. Success depends on connecting with customers instantly across multiple social media channels and networks. The growth of our App Directory gives clients an impressive arsenal of tools to do this, all in a single place," says HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes. "Our goal, as we close in on six million users by end of year, is to continue aggressively integrating leading apps, turning our dashboard into the mother of all SaaS resources for the social business." Tuesday’s apps bring a number of interesting additions to the service, particularly for business users. MailChimp: Allows you to view and search for recent campaigns, as well as share campaigns to social networks and view campaign results. Chime.in: Chime.in integration allows you to schedule and send chimes from within HootSuite, as well as view and leave comments, and preview photos and video. Identi.ca: Identi.ca users can now post status updates, monitor their timeline and messages, view conversations, and track replies. Vision Critical Surveys: Now you can share surveys from Vision Critical Survey's with your social networks, and monitor results in real time. RSS Reader: The RSS Reader app lets you view your RSS feeds within Hootsuite and easily share those stories with your social networks from your HootSuite dashboard. "While we offer social capabilities and tracking inside our own application we know that the most important thing for small businesses is convenience,” says MailChimp Head of Integrations and Partnerships, Amy Ellis. "So many small businesses use HootSuite t! o manage and measure their brand's presence on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and more. We're excited that this integration will also allow them to manage the sharing of their email campaigns across those networks as well." HootSuite launched the App Directory enabling third-party developers to build extensions into the dashboard platform late last year. Applications currently available include Constant Contact, Digg, Flickr, Get Satisfaction, InboxQ, Orkut, TrendSpottr, Tumblr, and YouTube.
