He expressed his displeasure over the attitude of Babar Awan during his meeting with party members in Lahore and Multan.
President Zardari said that he proposed his name in the contempt case despite the reservations of PM Gilani. He regretted that Babar Awan could not meet the expectations and disappeared on the day of signing the document to become a defence witness in the contempt case against Prime Minister.
He further told that several calls were also made to Babar Awan from presidency and PM secretariat but he did not responded on the main day.
In February, former law minister Babar Awan told court that he was ineligible to appear as witness in the Prime Minister’s contempt case as he was already serving as a lawyer in NRO review case.
