Mfarhanonline News KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif said here on Monday that Pakistan was heading towards doom; no one including the army or elite is above the state, mfarhanonline News reported.
"Before any one else suspends our aid we should ourselves decide to take anymore of it," he asserted while talking to media after visiting Mazar-e-Quaid.
He said the aim of building Pakistan was not to trade its sovereignty and honor.
The incumbent government, Nawaz Sharif maintained, was incapable of overcoming serious problems like poverty, unemployment and energy crisis.
To a question, he said the passport of Raymond Davis was still lying with the Punjab Government and that the ISI Chief Lt Gen Shuja Pasha had already told the joint session of the parliament that the twin killer of Pakistani nationals had been released on the orders of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Earlier, in his brief talk to media men at Karachi airport upon his arrival from Lahore, the PML-N Chief said he had come to the metropolis after a very long time and that he was glad to be here.
Later, Nawaz Sharif reached his hotel where his party workers turned up in a large number which prompted a bit of a disorder, leading to the breaking of the hotel's glass door.
Chairing a meeting of the workers, Nawaz Sharif said right from the first day of the present government he had been standing by for protecting democracy and country, but not anymore.
"Now the Constitution and the institution upholding its rule would have to come forward to play their role," he stressed.
