Mfarhanonline:Troika meets, discusses current political situation

Mfarhanonline News ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on Saturday met President Asif Ali Zardari here at presidency, sources said.

According to the sources, the troika meeting discussed issues relating to prevailing political situation, current and future relationship between Pakistan and United States, and PM's official visit to France.

Also, Prime Minister Gilani apprised President of his official visit to France.

According to a short press release on the meeting issued by President spokesman, the top political and military brass consulted on future strategy, keeping in view US operation in Abbottabad.

Some sources claimed that the meeting also deliberated on government's reservations over the propaganda being hatched against Pakistan by some US intelligence agencies and officials from Obama administration.

Following the meeting, the president Zardari departed on a two-day official visit to Kuwait.
