According to details, a youth Muhammad Hussain of Neelgarh area was yesterday arrested by officials of Police Station City Khanpur on charges of possessing a pistol.
Police brutally tortured the youth at the police station upon which he fell unconscious. Police took Muhammad Hussain to Tehsik Headquaters Hospital Khanpur and was brought back to police station after getting medical treatment.
The DPO ordered the registration of a case under Terrorist Act against officials after a video about alleged torture was flashed in the electronic media while a sub-inspector was arrested while the SHO of the said police station was suspended.
However, the DPO later revealed that an inquiry into the incident has proved that the video was fake and the arrest order of the sub-inspector and suspension order of the SHO was taken back.
